Located on Water Street, Clark Farms has been a major part of the agricultural landscape of Hammonton since 1887, and its legacy spans across generations. The land that the farm is situated on was originally purchased by William Clark, an Irish immigrant from New York, who brought his family to Hammonton in search of a better life. The Clarks quickly found success and prosperity, as the location of their farm was perfectly situated for supplying the local market with fresh vegetables and milk. The Clarks’ dedication to the local farming industry and their commitment to providing the best quality products in the area quickly made them a staple in the community. In 1900, William Clark passed away, and his son, Harry, inherited the farm. Under Harry’s leadership, the farm expanded, both in size and scope. Harry added a dairy to the farm, as well as a plentiful garden, which he tended himself. From the 1940s to the present day, the farm has been managed by the same family and still operates in much the same manner that it did a century ago. The traditional techniques used to cultivate crops and raise animals have been passed down through generations, and the farm has maintained its dedication to quality production.
